While most of us imagine a national park vacation as a summer holiday event, Hawaii volcanoes National Park will have you thinking otherwise. This fiery national park has many words for lava, just as Eskimos have many words for snow. The Kilauea and the Mauna Loa volcanoes, though very active, are considered sage to visit. A drive around Kilauea crater will let you see the formations left out by flowing magma. If its your lucky season, you may even get to see steam and and lava running into the ocean.
The place is never crowded and one can always get a free camping spot. A World of Lava awaits you.
